GENERAL GUIDELINES
Whenever Fairfax County closes the schools on a school day due to weather, all gyms are also closed that day and evening and both games and practices are cancelled. If FCPS closes schools on Friday, then gyms may or may not be closed on Saturday and Sunday. The County usually makes this decision on Friday night. Even if the County does not close the schools, in some cases on the weekends the CYA Basketball Executive Committee may decide to cancel games for safety reasons.
TO CHECK TO SEE IF FAIRFAX COUNTY HAS CLOSED GYMS FOR RECREATIONAL USE DUE TO WEATHER:
1. Check the Fairfax County Public Schools station on Cox Cable or the main news channels.

TO CHECK TO SEE IF CYA HAS CANCELLED GAMES EVEN THOUGH FCPS HAS NOT YET ANNOUNCED GYM CLOSURES:
1. Check the basketball page of the CYA website: www.chantillyyouth.org The basketball board will update this site as soon as a decision is made to cancel games.
