Spring Basketball

General Information

UPDATE: Guaranteed registration has officially ended for Spring basketball but some leagues are still accepting players as space permits (for example, 11th grade boys and 9-12 grade girls). If a league has reached its quota, then all new registrants will be placed on a waiting list and added if space opens up -- any registrants not placed will receive a full refund.

CYA will once again be offering a Spring basketball program this year for all those in Grades 4-12 (due to gym space limitations, we cannot run programs for 1st-3rd grade in the Spring). Although the exact season start and end dates have not yet been finalized, Spring basketball will run roughly from the beginning of April until mid-June, with teams playing the same number of regular season games (9 or 10) as in the Winter season and participating in end of season tournaments.

Due to the relative shortness of the Spring season, those in the upper grades (7-12 grade) will have a limited number of pre-season practices and then go to one weekday game and one weekend game per week. Those in the elementary grades (4-6) will have one weekday practice and one weekend game until near the end of the season, at which time they too may go to 2 games per week (depending upon gym availability). Games will be played in local area schools and at the Hoop Magic Basketball Academy.

Online registration began on January 9th and runs through the end of February. Late registration begins March 3rd and runs until midnight on March 22nd. Beginning 12:01 PM on March 23rd, registrations will only be accepted for leagues that still had space; all others will be placed on a waiting list. Registration is $115 plus the $5.50 Fairfax County fee and the new $10.00 indoor facilities capital improvement fee ; a late fee of $25 is added after 12 noon on March 3.
