Late and waiting list registration: Registration officially ended on November 1st for grades 1-8 and in mid-December for grades 9-12. Anyone in grades 1-8 who successfully registered by November 1st or in grades 9-12 who registered by December 1st are guaranteed a place on a house team. After tehese dates, registrations are accepted on a first-come first-served basis until January 2nd for those leagues that still have space; if a league’s capacity has been reached, new registrants are placed on a waiting list and added if and only if space opens up due to drop outs. If you registered and have not heard from a coach about your team placement, contact CYA Basketball at basketball@chantillyyouth.org. All those who registered but are not placed on a team can apply for a full refund.

Team Formation and Skills Assessments: In the CYA House program, CYA holds skills assessments for grades 3-10 (Boys) and grades 3-8 (girls) to assist in the player draft, which is the basis for team formation. Grades 1-2 Boys and Girls, Grades 11-12 Boys, and Grades 9-12 Girls do not hold skills assessments.  All such skills assessments have now been held.

Practice and game start. Practices started for grades 2-8 in early December (4th grade boys and 6th grade girls are the only grades that will start earlier). Games began for some leagues the weekend of December 9th-10th and for most other leagues the weekend of December 16-17th, depending on the age level (some leagues will begin on Jan. 6-7).. Practices will continue for most leagues until the end of February as will regular season games. Tournaments are held for grades 4-12 during the first two weeks of March.
