The last day to register for boys lacrosse is COB Friday, February 10th, 2012. After that date, a $25 late fee will be assessed and space on a team may or may not be available. Please register early to assure team placement.
$170 Boys - for those registered by February 10th, 2012. Contact Jeff Lalande at jeff.a.lalande@hp.com for financial assistance if needed. We do not want to turn away players due to the cost of playing including equipment rental.
$195 Boys - for those registering after February 10th. Registration closes on March 1st, 2012. Those registering late are not gauranteed team placement.
NOTE: The Boys Council voted in late 2011 to adhere to the new US Lacrosse Age rules which changes the birthyear cut-off date from 12/31/xx to 8/31/xx. For the 2012 spring season, use the following to determine where your son will play:
U15: All players must be 14 years old or younger on the August 31st preceding competition.
U13: All players must be 12 years old or younger on the August 31st preceding competition.
U11: All players must be 10 years old or younger on the August 31st preceding competition.
U9: All players must be 8 years old or younger on the August 31st preceding competition.

2012 Spring Evaluation Procedures
We participate in the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL) season, and compete against other youth lacrosse organizations in the Northern Virginia area. NVYLL offers competition in the following categories:
A level – Most highly skilled and experienced players for each age group
B level –U11, U13 & U15- players have past game experience and good skill foundation
C level – U11, U13 & U15 - limited game experience / skills / beginners
Teams are selected to best match a player’s skill and athleticism with the level of competition that will allow the most development and participation.
Note: The A team level has a very limited mandatory player participation requirement and team members must commit to CYA Lacrosse as their PRIMARY sport in the spring.
CYA Lacrosse evaluation Time and Place TBD (potential timeframe: late January - early February)
With the exception of U 9 players, All players are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible. U 9’s have no player evaluations as teams are divided by convenience (school, address, etc)
Equipment needed (for evaluations and season): For Boys: Stick, helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, and mouthpiece, and athletic supporter.
Equipment rental:
Equipment for boys may be rented at a cost of $85 for the season (Plus a $200 Deposit check); equipment fitting / pickup will be at the Bennett Road CYA equipment shed (off West Ox Road) Pickup times TBD. CYA Lacrosse will be working with LaxWorld in Burke Virginia to coordinate discounted pricing on Lacrosse equipment if you wish to buy equipment. Look for an email with specific information in the coming weeks.
Lacrosse practices can start as early as Feb 15th - most will start the first week of March with games beginning in late March (Saturdays / Sundays) continuing thru early June. No games are scheduled over Easter or Memorial weekends. Some teams participate in Post Season Tournaments.
