Registration for Summer 2010 is open!!!
Season 5 is on...
CYA is pleased to announce that Youth Rugby is offered again to the Chantilly community in Summer 2010.
Note that Rugby is a SUMMER sport. The season starts on June 1st and ends the first weekend of August, just before the beginning of the football season. Rugby is an excellent way of preparing yourself for the Football season (fitness, tackling, ...).
Registration is open and will remain open through the end of July. Please register early.
Rugby is open to boys and girls who were born in 1993 or later. U9 and U11 players (younger than 11 years) play the touch (non-contact) version of Rugby, coed. U13, U15, and U17 can play the touch and tackle versions of Rugby. Touch teams are coed, tackle teams are not.
The fee has been lowered to $95.50. The registration fee includes a Rugby Ball for you to keep. Click here to register. Please do not wait to register
If you have problems to pay the registration fee, the CYA Rugby program offers a limited number of scholarships with a reduced fee. Please contact the commissioner, Didier Perdu for details.
Along with registration, some forms need to be downloaded, printed, filled, signed and given to me as soon as possible. Click on the paperwork link on the left banner to have access to these forms.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Didier Perdu at dperdu@cox.net or 703-606-3812 (C)

Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00 to 8:00 at Rocky Run Middle School
Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 or later at Rocky Run Middle School (starting June 17). The address is:
Rocky Run Middle School
4400 Stringfellow Road
Chantilly, VA 20151-2506
The field is in the back of the school. Actually there are two fields. They are grass and are in decent shape. We will have plenty of space and will be able to run better practices
The school is at the corner of Poplar Tree Road and Stringfellow Road, about 1 mile North of where we used to practice. Coming from Route 50, you will have less traffic to struggle with (or at least for a shorter amount of time).
To avoid Stringfellow Rd traffic:
Coming from Route 28 on Route 50, turn right on Lees Corner Rd, go to the end of the road, turn left on Poplar Tree Road, the school will be on the right just before the light with Stringfellow Rd.
Coming from Fairfax and points East on Route 50, turn left on Majestic Lane just before the Greenbriar Shopping Center. Take the second right after the shopping center on Poplar Tree Rd. The school will be on the left just after Stringfellow Rd.
The summer competition will begin June 19th and continue through early August. Home games will also be at Rocky Run Middle School. I will post the schedule of games as soon as it has been decided. Games are usually Thursday nights and Saturday morning. The end of the season tournament is scheduled for July 31 and August 1, 2010. The location has not been determined yet.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Didier Perdu at dperdu@cox.net or 703-606-3812 (C)

Play Rugby!!! Every player is a Running Back!!!!
Are you looking for:
-
A fast paced game?
-
A continuous game with few stoppages?
-
A game with frequent changes of possession?
-
A game in which everyone can run, pass, catch, and kick the ball?
-
A game in which everyone can score?
-
Physical contact?
If you answered "yes" to most of the above, Rugby just might be the game for you!
Rugby has the speed of basketball, the contact of football, and the strategy of chess.
CHAMPIONS AGAIN!!!!
U13 and U15 repeat as PRUYL Tackle champions. U17 win the Plate Championship (August 2007)
Better than last year!!! 3 titles of champions!!! CYA Rugby brought its "A" game at the 2007 tackle PRUYL tournament.
CHAMPIONS!!!
CYA Rugby ends its inaugural season with two PRUYL championships (August 2006)
On August 6, 2006 in Bowie, MD, CYA’s U13 tackle rugby squad and U15 tackle rugby squad swept the PRUYL championship tournament. Both teams brought home their respective 2006 divisional championship to Chantilly. Overall, in the tournament, the U13s went 4-0 and the U15s went 3-0.
