CYA Travel Accomplishments

  

 

     
   3/2011: CYA Dragons Champions - Dulles Sportsplex Winter Session 2.  The team ended the session 6-0-0.  In the championship game, the Dragons faced a strong Loudoun team, winning the game 6-5 after an early lead which they held until the final buzzer. Congratulations Dragons!  
   

3/2011:  The Chantilly Firecats GU16 won the Vegas Cup (Las Vegas NV) with four wins including an impressive win over Lamorinda (Oakland CA), the reigning Golden State Girls Soccer League champions and this past summer’s San Diego Surf Cup Champions.  The girls won games over three other highly ranked west coast teams (Sacramento, Santa Rosa and Placer (near Silicon Valley).  The wins helped push the Firecats up to being ranked #2 in the nation. For the rest of the spring (2011), the girls will be participating in the Jefferson Cup, the PDA Tournament (NJ) and then on to the Regional 1 Championships in July in Hershey PA.

11/2010 - The Chantilly (CYA) Firecats U16 repeated as Virginia State Champions on Halloween 2010 with a 4-2 win.  In the four rounds of the State Championships the Firecats scored 22 goals and gave up 4.  The next step in the national championship tournament is the Region 1 Championships to be held in Hershey PA in July.  In December the girls will go to Raleigh to play National League rivals SoCal Blues (Los Angeles), Albion SC (San Diego) and Cleveland FC, then on to Orlando in January to face Dallas, Tampa and Chicago.   

 

 

10/2010The U15G Chantilly Rumble (ODSL Division 1) coached by Dan Ayoub and Brian Cummins won the 2010 Battlefield Tournament hosted by Northern Virginia Soccer Club the weekend of October 9-10, 2010.  Meeting a regular season opponent in the championship game, the LFC Avalanche, the Rumble came prepared to battle. After 60 minutes of intense action the Rumble were victorious with a 1-0 win.  Congratulations girls on a well played tournament!

09/2010:  The U15G Chantilly Rumbles (Division 1 ODSL Team) won the 2010 PWSI Toys for Tots Tournament hosted by Prince William Soccer the weekend of September 4-6, 2010.  CYA Rumble went into the finals with a 2-0-1 record, having scored 5 goals and allowing no goals.  In the final game, they faced a strong and resilient Loudon team, and won the Championship game 3-0.  Congratulations girls on a well played tournament!

 

09/2010:  The GU16 Chantilly Firecats won the 2010 OBGC Capital Cup tournament in Olney Maryland Sep 6th with a 3-0 win over Albertson (NY).  The Firecats will play this fall in the WAGS Champions division with other state championship level teams in the U16-U18 age groups.  Over the winter, they will play in the "National League" with teams such as Tampa, Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego and a few others.  The league will meet to play in a variety of locations such as Raleigh NC, Orlando FL, Las Vegas NV, and San Diego CA. 

03/2010:  The U15 Virginia State Champion Firecats finished as finalists in the prestigious Jefferson Cup in Richmond, Virginia.  The Firecats made it to the Championship bracket with wins over the top ranked teams from New York and Pennsylvania.  They lost the championship in a closely played match with the number one ranked team in the nation.  They’ll face each other again in July.
  11/2009 - CYA Freedom (U11G) team was formed last summer and played ODSL Div 3, Fall 2009.  Freedom finished as Finalists in their very first tournament - the Fauquier County Soccer Club Hunt Country Classic (classic division) with 2 wins, 2 ties, 0 losses!  They played a WAGS team and two ODSL Div 1 teams.  The girls did a fantastic job playing against these higher level teams and we are very proud of their success!  Congratulations Freedom!

08/2009 - CYA GU14 Hotshots:  Finalists, Fredericksburg Cup
   
08/2009 - CYA GU13 Galaxy: U13 Challenge Division Dulles National Soccer Tournament Champions.  Galaxy won the final after two 10 minute overtimes and second set of PK’s!  Very long and exciting game!
8/2009 – CYA GU14 Rumble:  Dulles National Soccer Tournament Finalists
   
08/2009 The CYA Arsenal White U10 Boys, finished in first place of the Premier Division at the Dulles National Soccer Tournament.
 
Arsenal White went into the finals with a 3-0 record, having scored 15 goals and only allowing 1. In the final game, they faced a strong and resilient VSA team, that pushed Arsenal White to the extreme.
 
Being down a goal twice, the boys kept their cool and came back to tie the game and eventually win it in extra time 3-2.

07/2009 - CYA Comets White U13, Spring 2009 WAGS Division 4 champions; Baltimore March Madness champions; and Columbia Memorial Day Tournment Champions.

Fall 2008 2nd place WAGS Division 4; NVSC Classic champions; and OBGC Capital Cup champions.

 

05/2009:  GU14 CYA United placed as finalist in the VA Legacy tournament!  Go United!

 

11/2008:  The GU13 CYA Rumble ODSL Division 2 Champions.

 

 11/2008:  The GU14 CYA Firecats finished the year ranked 5th in the nation.  They won the Bethesda Thanksgiving Tournament (Nov), the Spirit Kickoff (PA) (Sep), the Virginian (May) and the Arlington Invitational Tournament (Mar).  They were WAGS Division 1 Champions in June and had 40 wins overall in 2008 (no including indoor).

10/2008 – CYA GU13 Rumble:  Battlefield Classic Tournament Champions.
 

05/2008:  The GU17 Blitz won the Virginian Tournament over Memorial Day.  The ladies defeated the Spirit United Surge 2-1 in the semi-finals and the Victory Express 6-1 in the finals.  The Blitz recently finished first this spring season in WAGS U19 Division 2.

  05/2008:  CYA Chaos U11 Girls Winners:  Williamsburg Sixes, April 2008; Arlington Spring Invitational Classic Division Winners, March 2008.  The Chaos is always looking to add impact players and will be holding tryouts this Spring.
 

03/2008:  Real Chantilly 98 White won three games and was the finalist in the Black division at the Ice Breaker in March. 

Real Chantilly 98 White went undefeated and won the Blue division championship at the Fall Classic in November.

02/2008:  GU-14 Liberty - Champions 07-08 Winter Indoor Season - Soccer Fiesta 07-08 Xara Division; Champions 07 Hunt Country Classic Tournament - Classic Division; Champions Fall 07 ODSL Division 2

02/2008 The CYA Girls U-12 BLAST won the Red Division of the indoor soccer league run at Dulles SportPlex this winter session 2.  The girls had a 6-1 record and scored 43 goals during the season while only giving up 21 goals. 
  03/2008:  The Chantilly Premier ’91 (the new GU16 team) won the U16 division of the PWSI Tournament this weekend with a dramatic win over Oakwood (Hartford CT) in the Championship game after being tied 1-1 through regulation and two 5 minute OT periods.  The teams went through the first 5 PK’s tied and it was finally decided after going through the entire team and to the second person to go twice.
  03/2008:  The GU13 Chantilly Firecats competed in the Arlington Invitational Tournament and won the top U13 division.  The firecats faced a determined team from Rochester, NY and local rivals Ashburn, McLean and Herndon.  The championship match was against the Herndon Elite and the Firecats prevailed 2-1.

The U12G CYA Comets were division champions of the 2007 Hunt Country Classic and the 2007 Hershey Kicks 4 Kids Invitational.  The Comets were runners-up in the 2008 SNF Indoor Soccer League, finishing with a 5-1-2 record, 60 goals scored, 22 allowed and two shutouts.

06/2007:  CYA Wolf Pack - 2007 Spring U12G ODSL Division 2 Champions

  6/2007:  The GU12 CYA Firecats play in WAGS Division 1 and were State Cup semi-finalists and are listed on the GotSoccer ranking service as one of the top 10 teams in Region 1 (Virginia to Maine).  They wrapped the season up with a finalist placement in a New Jersey tournament with tough overtime loss to Pittsburgh….then a championship in the elite division of the McDonald’s Soccerfest 4x4 in Columbia, Maryland
 

06/2007:  Congratulations to the CYA Wildcats who won their division in the Spring 2007 Hershey Invitational after four hard fought games against teams from Loudon, Readington,Warrington and Hanover.

05/2007:  The CYA Phoenix, a premier WAGS girls U12 travel soccer team, won the Virginian Invitation Soccer Tournament.  The Phoenix played a total of 5 games in 3 days.  The Chantilly team beat FPYC Roadrunners 5-1; Beach FC Piranhas 2-1; Staten Island United Metros 2-1; VISTA BC United 1-0; and Annandale Earthquakes 1-0 in a hard fought finals championship game. 
03/2007:  The CYA United won the Boys U10 division of the Freestate Spring Breakout Capitol tournament held in Bowie, MD.  The team played an initial series of three games against teams from MD and DE, ending with 1 tie and 2 wins.  A special mention should be made of game three which went all the way through a 5 on 5 PK shootout, followed by sudden-death PKs!  The championship game felt like a breeze after that, with a final win of 2-0 to clinch the Champions trophy.  The CYA United have also been Boys U9 Champions of the Hunt Country Classic Tournament (Fall 2005) and were Boys U10 Finalists at the Hershey Tournament (Spring 2006).
