"Focus On Education" Sessions

All coaching education sessions listed below are for CYA registered members (coaches and asst. coaches) ONLY. All sessions are highly interactive and all coaches need to come prepared to participate.

Introduction to Youth Development-Bantam Session(Cancelled Thursday, Sept 8th Due Bad Field Conditions. New date/time below)
This session is designed to introduce first time CYA Bantam Coaches with age appropriate small-sided games and exercises along with basic youth development theory.

"Managing an Effective Junior Training Session"  
 
This interactive workshop will focus on basic junior session management and the implementation of small-sided games as teaching tools. Learn how to accomplish your session objectives in an educational and fun environment.

"Referee’s and Rules of the Game"  
 
This interactive classroom session will focus on FIFA’s rules of the game and their application at the youth level. This session is a must for any and ALL CYA youth coaches. High-level state referees will review the laws of the game, common misunderstood laws and how perspective and the “human factor” play a role in all officiated games.

CYA Encourages All our Recreational Coaches To Attend!
Virginia Youth Soccer Convention
 
VYSA will hold its Annual VYSA Soccer Convention on February 3 and 4, 2012 at the Richmond Center in Richmond, VA. 
 
There has been a change to the format of the Convention.  This year’s Convention will begin on Friday evening, February 3, 2012 with the President's Welcome and Awards Reception where all attendees are welcome.  It is a chance to walk through Exhibit Hall and meet others in the soccer community then attend the Awards Reception where those selected for this year’s various awards will be honored.
 
The Convention continues on Saturday morning, February 4, 2012 with a continental breakfast and all day sessions of lectures and demonstrations on many different areas of youth soccer from coaching and refereeing, to administration and governance.   
 
There is something for everyone involved in soccer.  Please plan to attend and join us for another fun filled, educational day of soccer!
