The CYA U8 Academy takes place every spring.  All teams in our U8 program participate in the Academy.  Each season, we assess the various aspects of the program with regard to what worked well and what didn't work so well.  We are excited to bring the updated program to the membership this spring and will continue to tweak things to make it better year after year!

OVERVIEW

All U8 Teams will be assigned a day at Word of Grace to train with the professional instructors from Soccer Performance International (SPI).  The training sessions utilize exercises that focus on fundamental skill development.  CYA Soccer places great emphasis on our volunteer coaching staff yet we understand that professional teaching is vital to the long term soccer development of our kids.  That is not to say that our goal is to create superstar soccer players with this training yet we understand that with regard to fundamental skill development, kids can attain whatever level they desire as they get older with a solid skill foundation.
